Taxonomic remark Schubnel et al., 2019 state: Aviologus Coty et al. 2014 was originally referred to the clade Panorthoptera. Aristov (2017) transferred this taxon into Spanioderidae Handlirsch, 1906 in the set of taxa ‘Cnemidolestina’ Handlirsch, 1937 sensu Aristov (2017), without argument. Du et al. (2017, p. 194) considered that this taxon could be an archaeorthopteran (but not in Panorthoptera, which is a subclade of Archaeorthoptera) and close to the genus Protomiamia ... It seems likely, at least, that Aviologus is an archaeorthopteran and not referable to ‘Cnemidolestina’. [details]
