Taxonomic remark Authority given in Nomen. Zool. as Steller in Pallas, 1814. Jordan regarded Plagyodus as making available Pallas' Plagyodentem given in dative case, but Pallas (p. 383) used Plagyodontis. Günther's use probably can be regarded as an incorrect subsequent spelling of Plagyodontis. (Eschmeyer). [details]
