Taxonomic remark Schubnel et al., 2019 state: Béthoux et al. (2012) revised Miamia, the type genus of Spanioderidae, and demonstrated that it is an archaeorthopteran on the basis of the relative convexity/concavity of the cubital veins, an argument also overlooked by Aristov (2016, 2017), who placed them in the superorder Perlidea Latreille, 1802.
