Taxonomic remark pro Antho- Meigen 1803 (Nomen. Zool.). From Evenhuis & Pape, 2019: Neave (1939a: 235) listed this spelling and attributed it to Meigen (1826: 44) as a subsequent spelling of Anthomyia Meigen, 1803. A check of all publications by Meigen 1824 to 1838 could not find this spelling. The mistake appears to derive from the list of genera in Scudder (1882: 26) of which many of the Diptera names were supplied to Scudder by G.H. Verrall. [details]
