Taxonomic remark Class not recognised in the taxonomic hierarchy of Index Fungorum (2019 version), which places order Basidiobolales as incertae sedis in Zygomycota, however included in Tedersoo et al., 2018, within its own phylum Basidiobolomycota. Name also published as new in Humber, 2012, where it is assigned to phylum Entomophthoromycota, however Tedersoo et al. disagree with this placement. [details]
