This amended spelling was proposed by Herbert & Bouchet to the ICZN in 2011 (Case 3555) and used in Bouchet et al.'s 2017 "Revised classification, nomenclator and typification of gastropod and monoplacophoran families" however its apparent senior homonym isin fact an unjustified emendation so the original name Chilodontidae Wenz, 1938 is correct, refer ICZN Opinion 2502, 2024.
