Taxonomic remark As subfamily (Callimiconinae) in McKenna & Bell, 1997; in family Cebidae, subfamily Callitrichinae in Wilson & Reeder, 2005. From that work: [Genus Callimico] Placed in a separate family, Callimiconidae, by Hershkovitz (1977), but recognized as a member of the Callitrichidae (=Hapalidae) by Pocock (1920a), Napier (1976), and Groves (1989); McKenna and Bell (1997) placed it in a separate subfamily, Callimiconinae, of their family Callitrichidae. [details]
