Nomenclatural status nomen rejiciendum [details]
Taxonomic remark nom. rej. vs. Mammillaria Haworth 1812 (nom. cons.) (Index Nominum Genericorum). From AlgaeBase, 2025 version: Stackhouse did not designate a type of the two species he included: M. exapansa Stackhouse and M. echinata (Stackhouse) Stackhouse [=Fucus echinatus Stackhouse; the first refers to Fucus mamillosus Goodenough & Woodward (now Mastocarpus stellatus), renamed by him Mammillaria expansa Stackhouse, and the second (type localities, various in Cornwall) has also been referred to the same species.
