Taxonomic remark See Oenosanda (Nomen. Zool.). The name Oenosandra was initially published by Newman (but attributed to Walker) in Trans. R. ent. Soc. Lond. (n.s.) 3: 286 on 21 April 1856. The name was subsequently published by Walker, 1856 [May 10], List Specimens lepid. Insects Colln Br. Mus. 7: 1713, however Newman's name is the available name with Walker's name a homonym and synonym. Pitkin & Jenkins (2020) ascribe the Newman name instance to Walker. [details]
