Taxonomic remark Treated as a fungal group (botanical nomenclature by Wijayawardene et al., 2018 (under phylum name Rozellomycota), however as protozoan (zoological nomenclature) by Ruggiero et al., 2015 and Index Fungorum (2019 version). IRMNG presently follows the treatment as given in Index Fungorum, while noting that this may change in the future. Also note (1), Rozellids are not separated out at phylum level in the treatment of Ruggiero et al., but as Class Rozellidea within phylum Choanozoa, and (2) under botanical nomenclature, this phylum has also been named Rozellomycota by Doweld, 2013 (used in Wijayawardene et al., 2018). [details]
