Listed in Chromulinaceae (Chromulinales) in AlgaeBase, 2020 version following Nicholls & Wujek, 2003, however Pusztai & Škaloud, 2019 found that the Uroglena-like colonial flagellates (Uroglena, Uroglenopsis and Urostipulosphaera) nest within the Ochromonadales on molecular evidence. [details]
