Taxonomic remark The Paleobiology Database (2022 version) includes this family, however at the same time treats its type genus Otlestes as a synonym of Bobolestes; the latter genus was allocated to Pappotheriidae in McKenna & Bell, 1997, but is now treated as an unplaced stem eutherian (assigned to Zalambdalestoidea in Averianov & Archibald, 2005).
