Taxonomic remark Hallan (2000-) lists Asterolepisma as a synonym of Neoasterolepisma Mendes, 1988, but according to other sources the latter is only a pro parte synonymy. The type species, Asterolepisma aurea, originally Lepisma aurea Dufour, 1831, is also the type of Lepisma (Tricholepisma) Paclt, 1967; Tricholepisma was subsequently raised to genus in Mendes, 1988.
