Taxonomic remark Name suppressed for priority but not homonymy (ICZN Opinion 805, 1967). Huxley, 1868 proposed both "Discolithus" and "Cyatholithus" as descriptive categories for coccoliths, which both Nomenclator Zoologicus and Loeblich & Tappan, 1966, treat as proposed names for genera; in ICZN Opinion 805 (1967), the ICZN apparently agreed, since Cyatholithus Huxley is suppressed in that work. However Index Nominum Genericorum considers that Discolithus (and by extension, Cyatholithus) was not a validly published generic name in Huxley's work, calling it "alleged but non-existent" (refer ING entry for Discolithina Loeblich & Tappan, 1963).
