Taxonomic remark From Oskars et al., 2019: Habe (1952) erected Micratys for a minute, spherical, polished shell with spiral striae at both ends and a straight columella. He placed this genus in Atyidae and, later, Zilch (1960) regardedit as a subgenus of Atys. However, Valdés (2008: 771, fig. 93A–C), while describingthe new species Micratys wareni, found a radula that does not fit Haminoeidae, consisting of a large hook-shaped inner lateral with coarse denticulation on the inner edge and three drastically smaller outer laterals. These features are, for example, observed in genera and families of Philinoidea (Gosliner 1988, 1989; Valdés 2008; Ohnheiser and Malaquias 2013). The rachidian is unlike anything recorded before in Cephalaspidea and consists of one elongate cusp with six or seven denticles. No representatives of Micratys were available to us for molecular phylogenetics or anatomical comparison, but differences in shell shape and anatomy suggest a family affiliation other than Haminoeidae.
