Taxonomic remark Authority cited elsewhere as Greville, 1828. From Hyde et al., 2024: The genus was first proposed by Greville (1828) to accommodate one species Angioridium sinuosum, which forms strongly laterally compressed plasmodiocarps with a longitudinal fissure. In the most recent phylogenetic revision, the genus was re-erected by García-Martín et al. (2023). Three other Physarum species cluster together with A. sinuosum, all with similar morphology, but new combinations have not yet been proposed, and currently the genus includes only one accepted species, A. sinuosum (=Physarum bivalve). [details]
