Taxonomic remark Status and authorship uncertain: included as an accepted genus in Sepkoski, 2002 and in Haas, 1970 (as Katrolites (Garnierisphinctes), reported by Geister & Geyer, 1968), but untraced elsewhere. Probably not Katroliceras Spath, 1924 (separate record in Sepkoski). Garnierisphinctes is presently treated as an accepted genus in Perisphictidae (no mention of Katrolites in that work), refer Énay et al., 2014. [details]
