According to Herbert & Bouchet, 2011, Chilodon Ehrenberg, 1834 is a "potentially valid name" with Chilodonella Strand, 1928 a superfluous substitute name (no homonymy with Chilodon Ehrenberg, 1831, Mollusca, since the latter is a nomen nudum), however Chilodonella is in current use (with family name Chilodonellidae) as at February 2019.
