Taxonomic remark nom. illeg. later homonym non Heist. ex Fabr. (1759). C. H. Stirton used "Bituminaria Heist. ex Fabricius" as an accepted genus, but excluded Psoralea L. from Bituminaria. He thus inadvertently created “Bituminaria C.H.Stirt.” as a later homonym (Vienna Code Art. 48.1 applies). He cited Aspalthium Medik. (1787) as a synonym, and this citation renders superfluity to Bituminaria C.H.Stirt. (IPNI) [details]
