Taxonomic remark The name of this family is correctly Chilodontidae Macalister, 1876, see Herbert & Bouchet, 2011, although Chilodonellidae (based on a superfluous replacement name) is in current use. A proposal to suppress Chilodontidae Macalister, 1876 has been before the ICZN since 2011 (Case 3555), with no ruling as at February 2019. [details]
