Taxonomic remark Not validly published: no generic description or diagnosis; no validation in S. K. Baksi, Bull. Geol. Mining Metallurg. Soc. India 26: 16. Jun 1962. (Index Nominum Genericorum). Genus treated as accepted in Saxena & Trivedi, 2006, however 2 species attributed to Biswas are now in Albertipollenites, and 3 attributed to Baksi are in Ladakhipollenites and Foveotricolpites; for additional discussion refer Mandal & Rao, 2001, who state: "Tricolpopites Biswas, (1962) was not validly proposed (Jansonius & Hills, 1976) and the genus shows characters identical with Tricolpites. The species described under Tricolpopites are transferred to different genera." [details]
