Taxonomic remark Recognition of this family (containing Chroomonas, Falcomonas and Komma) depends on its distinction from from the earlier name Hemiselmidaceae, which contains Hemiselmis, as recognised e.g. in Clay, 2015, Freshwater Algae of North America (Cryptomonads chapter). Other workers treat Chroomonas, Hemiselmis and Komma as a single clade under the name Chroomonadaceae, however if this is the case then Hemiselmidaceae is the correct, earlier name. [details]
