Taxonomic remark Valid publication (first assigned species) dates from 1876 although the genus name appeared in 1874, thus preoccupied by Trichonema Cobbold, 1874 (Nematoda) in zoology as well as Trichonema Ker Gawl., 1802 in botany, refer Cavalier-Smith et al., 2016. Replacement name is Trichonemum Cavalier-Smith in Cavalier-Smith, Chao & Lewis, 2016. [details]
