Taxonomic remark A nom. cons. prop. by Doweld, 2017 against the older name Zuberiaceae Němejc, 1968; proposal recommended for acceptance by the Nomenclature Committee for Fissils (Herendeen, 2020). The alternative name Corystospermaceae used for this family is not based on a genus name and thus Umkomasiaceae is the valid name, refer Doweld, 2017. In the treatment of Novikoff & Barabasz-Krasny, 2015, this family is placed in its own order, Umkomasiales, within class Peltaspermopsida, however the latter is treated as an order (Peltaspermales) in the system presently adopted in IRMNG.
