Taxonomic remark From Kondrashov & Lucas, 2004: Zheng and Cui [presumed error for Chi] 1978 named the "phenacodontid" Eodesmaton spanios for a dentary fragment with p4 and m2 from the Eocene of Guangxi, China. The specimen is obviously a representative of Carnivora, and Russell and Zhai (1987, p. 239) assigned it to Procyonoidea. [details]
