Taxonomic remark Borkenhagen et al. 2011 place the type species of Kossiwigobarbus in the genus Carasobarbus, but they did not comment that both genera were described in the same reference. It becomes necessary for first revisor action to select one genus over the other; if that has not been done previously, then selection of Carasobarbus over Kosswigobarbus would be desirable (not selected here).
