Taxonomic remark Not validly published (provisional name only). From Entwisle & Foard, 1997: Henry Watts collected the type of Nothocladus nodosus in the early 1880s, and Skuja (in sched. UPS, 10.viii.1932) had considered naming that taxon Wattsia nodosa. AlgaeBase (2021 version) lists this genus as Wattsia Skuja ex T.J.Entwisle & H.J.Foard, 1997, nom. inval., however Entwisle & Foard never validated this name, merely cited it in passing from Skuja's work.
