Taxonomic remark Berry appears to have described this taxon (a subgenus of Leptochiton) as new twice in the same year, first in "Preliminary notices of some new west American chitons". Lorquinia 2: 44-47 [1919], then in "New chitons collected by Dr. Harold Heath in Monterey Bay, California", Proc. Calif. Acad. Sci., (4) 9. Australian Faunal Directory (2020 version) lists the first as an available name, thus the second is redundant (treated as a later usage in IRMNG). [details]
